Dr. Heather McGowan, DVM
Dr. McGowan has always had a soft spot for animals and keen interest in science and medicine, so putting them together for her profession just seemed logical! She received her Bachelor of Science from the University of Guelph before graduating from the Ontario Veterinary College in June 2006.
Sam is the groomer here at the Guest House, passionately grooming since the age of 17! Sam loves what she does. She is recently back from maternity leave and so excited to be back doing what she loves.
Aleka has had a passion for animals her entire life. From snakes to horses and everything in between, she loves caring for the animals. Because of her empathetic nature, she chose careers in which she can help both human and animals by working not only at Gonzo’s but as an animal-assisted wellness coach with Big Heart Equestrian, the company she founded.
Amanda is one our kennel attendants at Gonzo’s Guest House. She’s worked with animals most of her life and grew to learn that dogs were her passion. She takes pride in training dogs and shaping them into incredible family members and Gonzo’s has expanded that vision and given the opportunity to do that. Amanda pursues her passion in more ways then one, by creating a Pet CBD business and helping animals heal in natural ways. “I always knew animal care was the path I wanted and Gonzo’s Guest House has been the most incredible journey so far.”
A lifelong animal lover, Kym has a breadth of experience ranging from dog therapy to pet nutrition, exemplifying her commitment to pet care. Her canary Mookie, lovebirds Mango and Mungo, cats Maya, Mortimer, and Mozzie, along with ther dog Bogie are testament to her passion!
Jenn has been working with rescues for over 6 years, pulling dogs from high kill shelters, rehabilitating and shaping behaviour and finally, adopting them out. She has worked with rescues in Qatar, Chile, Mexico, the Dominican Republic and of course, the GTA. As a professional dog trainer, her focus is on basic obedience and manners. In her free time she enjoys going on hikes with her son and dogs.
My puppy Viggo loves visiting Gonzo’s. He adores his human friends and playing with the other dogs. He’s always tuckered out when he gets home which is amazing! I love that they send updates so I know how he’s doing! Thanks for everything!
